New York Mammal Survey

The New York Mammal Survey (NYMS) is the first statewide assessment of the distribution and status of New York’s terrestrial and freshwater mammals.

Wood Rabbit Project

The Wood Rabbit Project seeks to restore woodlands and young forest habitat to protect the species that rely on them. Our efforts center around the New England cottontail, which is itself threatened with extinction, but also serves as a flagship and umbrella species to protect and recover smaller, less charismatic wildlife in these forests.

Tidal Marsh Bird Project

This research focuses on the highly specialized Saltmarsh and Seaside sparrow in the unique urban environment of New York City and Long Island NY. This project is part of a larger working group across the Atlantic coast committed to the research and conservation of tidal marsh birds and their habitats.
